My story as a designer and artist began as a first grader in Vietnam, where I discovered my talent for drawing and arts, and often competed in drawing competitions in elementary school. I always knew I wanted to pursue a creative career, but it wasn’t until I moved to the United States, at age 17, that I discovered exactly what that meant.
My growth continued with my first job in the US. I sold candy door-to-door. Everyday I held candy in my hands, and took notice of the different wrappers and packaging. I noted the colors, the typography, the shapes and forms, and purpose of the packaging and what it achieved. I realized that I could use my art and my trainings in traditional print design, and apply it as a stepping stone to developing digital design skills that could solve problems, help people, and bring beauty to the world.
Today, I have had the opportunity to work on various print and digital products, including solving environmental problems and educating the Long Beach, CA population through design for the Long Beach Water Department, bringing ingenuity to the Avery Products Corporation in my design of their customizable label, and I continue to make the world a healthier place as I provide digital web designs implemented through customized coding for more than 75 physicians, medical providers, and practices across the United States.
